The USS John F. Kennedy (CVN-79) is the second of ten Gerald R. Ford-class supercarriers of the United States Navy. The John F. Kennedy was laid down at Newport News Shipbuilding on August 22nd 2014, launched on October 29th 2018 and christened by Caroline Kennedy on December 7th that same year and was commissioned in late 2019. It replaced the modified Kitty Hawk-class carrier of the same name.
