The Type 22 Frigate (also referred to as the Broadsword-class) was a class of frigate built for the British Royal Navy. Fourteen ships of the class were built in total, with production divided into three batches.

Ten ships of the earlier batches have been sold to Brazil, Poland, Romania, and Chile where they are still in active service. The four remaining vessels are currently in active service and are planned to be replaced along with the Type 23 frigates by the Type 26 frigates.
