HMCS Lake Huron (SSN-877)

The HMCS Lake Huron (SSN-877) is the second Lake Superior-class SSN in the Canadian Forces Maritime Command. It was delivered to the Maritime Command in late 1993 and commissioned in July 1994. During the 2008 Indian Ocean War, the Lake Huron was part of the fleet sent to take out the Indian and Pakistani navies. On July 20th, the Lake Huron found the Viraat carrier group and fired on them sinking the Viraat and guided missile destroyer INS Delhi. After the war, the crew of the Lake Huron would receive a unit citation and the captain would receive a Victoria Cross.
