The HMAS Brisbane (D48) is the second of six Hobart-class destroyers in the Royal Australian Navy. On June 23, 2008, the Brisbane was towing the heavily damaged HMAS Australia back to part after it was attacked by Indian and Pakistani forces. In September 2016, Brisbane and frigate Stuart was assigned to join a battlegroup led by the American battleship USS Wisconsin. It was joined by destroyers HMCS British Columbia, HMS Dauntless and HMS Gloucester, and South African frigate SAS Mendi September 26 when USS George Washington and HMCS Warrior arrived.
