Defence Research and Development Canada, also Defence R&D Canada or DRDC (Recherche & développement pour la défense Canada, R & D pour la défense Canada, ou RDDC in French), is an agency of the Department of National Defence (DND), whose purpose is to respond to the scientific and technological needs of the Canadian Forces (CF). DRDC has an annual budget of $1.35 billion (CAD) and employs about 5800 people.

DRDC has also been involved in the design of the Australia-class CVN, CF-184D Supercat, CE-194B Galaxy Atlas, and Victorious-class CVN as well as other pieces of military hardware.
